During my 20 years of postal chess (at 3 days per move), I preferred 9.Qf3. Then I played 20 years of blitz chess (a lot at 3 minutes per game). The last 10 years, I prefer 9.Bg2.

9.Bg2 c6

10.h4 Nd5

The bishop is trapped on g6.

11.h5 Nxc3

12.bxc3 Bxc2

Black gives up (or loses) the bishop for a pawn.

13.Qxc2 Bd6

14.Bf4 Qf6

15.Qf2 Qe7

16.0–0 c5

17.Nxf7 Bxf4

A great move is 18.Nxh8 and White is winning.

18.Qxf4 Rf8

Or 18...0–0 19.Nh6+ gxh6 20.Qxf8+ Qxf8 21.Rxf8+ Kxf8 22.Bxb7 with a final position similar to the game.
